The WILUP team, led by Dr. Vida Carandang and Dr. Rex Victor Cruz, met with the San Gabriel LGU officials, represented by Hon. Mayor Lany Carbonell and Sangguniang Bayan (SB) members at the SB Session Hall of San Gabriel, La Union. The meeting primarily aimed to discuss the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the two parties that will further promote the implementation of the R2R Framework on the municipal level.

Before proceeding to the MOA discussion, Dr. Rex discussed the 12 Steps of the R2R-based CLUP Process to provide them with the progress of the updating of CLUP in the municipality. Hon. Jerry Fernandez, one of the members of the SB, inquired about the target completion of the CLUP where Dr. Rex stated that the aim of the project team is to assist the municipality in accomplishing data needs for the CLUP at the end of the year.

The WILUP team then presented the revisions made by the legal team on the first version of the MOA. In this discussion, the team highlighted the technical assistance that the team could provide for the municipality particularly in the updating of their CLUP. The meeting ended with both groups agreeing to continuously coordinate in finalizing the MOA to proceed with the other activities of the project.
