Through the leadership of the outgoing Hon. Mr. Mayor, Hon. San Gabriel LGU Herminigildo Velasco demonstrated an utmost interest in the University of the Philippines Los Banos project funded by the DOST-PCAARRD. San Gabriel LGU committed to collaborating with the WILUP project as a result of prior successful UPLB activities and efforts, particularly in the management of watersheds in the province of La Union and neighboring provinces. As a result of a series of site coordination and watershed orientation consultations with the LGU, San Gabriel became more engaged in the project, which specifically intends to assist the LGU in developing development plans.
