Dr. Rex Victor Cruz, UPLB Professor Emeritus and the watershed expert of the WILUP project, presented at the CALABARZON Regional Planners’ Forum and Zoning Conference, organized by the National Economic and Development Authority on October 26, 2023. Dr. Cruz emphasized the importance of robust implementation of the Ridge-to-Reef (R2R) approach and highlighted the pivotal role of watersheds in integrated planning.

During the open forum, Dr. Cruz’s insights garnered substantial interest, leading the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator of Laguna and a municipality within the province to seek his expertise in incorporating the R2R concept into their planning frameworks, recognizing its potential for promoting sustainable development.
