WILUP Team Meets With DHSUD Region I

The WILUP team led by Dr. Vida Carandang and Dr. Rex Victor Cruz met with Engr. Danielle Casison, the designated TWG member from DHSUD Region I, along with Engr. Octavo Prudencio Jr. from the Environmental, Land Use, and Urban Planning and Development Division, through a Zoom meeting. The group discussed the collaboration between the WILUP team and DHSUD Region I on capacity-building training to develop the capacity of provincial and municipal LGU planning officers in using the R2R approach for land use and development planning. Further, Dr. Cruz provided a comprehensive presentation of the goals of the WILUP project and provided an update on the progress for each pilot site, including future activities for San Gabriel LGU and the La Union Provincial Government. Finally, measures will be taken, such as a screening process for the selection of GIS Specialists who will work with the TWG, to ensure that the resources that will be provided will assist the completion of CLUP of the municipality.
